Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp almond extract (optional)
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 small package (3 oz) strawberry-flavored gelatin
- Pink food coloring (optional)
- Hershey's Kisses, unwrapped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, baking powder, and strawberry gelatin. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients.
- Add a few drops of pink food coloring if desired, and mix until the dough is evenly colored.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and immediately press a Hershey's Kiss into the center of each cookie.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- You can chill the dough for 30 minutes if it's too soft to handle.
