Description

Dive into a hearty and flavorful stuffed meatloaf recipe, filled with gooey cheese and spinach. This recipe takes the classic comfort food to a whole new level, ensuring a delightful surprise with every slice.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg ground beef
  • 1/2 kg ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the milk and breadcrumbs. Let them soak for 5 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef, ground pork, beaten eggs, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until combined.
  4. On a sheet of parchment paper or a flat surface, flatten out the meat mixture into a large rectangle about 1/2-inch thick.
  5. Lay the chopped spinach evenly over the meat, followed by the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Carefully roll up the meatloaf, sealing the ends and ensuring the fillings stay inside.
  7. Place the rolled meatloaf in a baking dish or on a lined baking tray.
  8. Bake for 1 hour or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
  9. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize the stuffing with ingredients like sautéed mushrooms, bell peppers, or even cooked bacon.
  • A glaze, like the previously mentioned meatloaf glaze, can be added on top for extra flavor.
