Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 3 bell peppers, chopped
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in chopped bell peppers, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, cooked rice, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix well and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
- Add some crushed red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
