Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess grease and set the beef aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onions and mushrooms until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  • Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir well. Cook for 1-2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.
  • Slowly add beef broth, stirring constantly to create a smooth sauce. Bring to a simmer.
  • Stir in sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, and paprika. Mix well.
  • Add the cooked ground beef back into the skillet and stir to combine. Simmer for 5 minutes to thicken.
  • Toss the cooked egg noodles with the stroganoff sauce, or serve the sauce over the noodles. Garnish with parsley.
